SOLD! – AVIVA SELL ‘SABRE’, LONDON ROAD, CAMBERLEY.

Good news is what the Camberley office market needs and this is exactly what this is.

ACT Foundation (Basepoint, the serviced office operator) has bought the whole of Sabre, 377-399 London Road, Camberley, which was first developed in approx. 2005, for £2.4M.

Sabre, as the property is currently known, provides 32,250 sq ft of high quality office space and Basepoint have already started work in the building to create high quality offices ranging in size from rooms of approx., 200 sq ft up to floors of 8,000 sq ft plus.  There will be shared kitchens and break out areas for the occupiers to use plus meeting rooms which will be available to book and use on a pay as you go basis.

This is probably the last time the building will be referred to as Sabre, as the new centre will almost certainly have a new name once the fitting out works have been completed and the centre is launched.

There is also likely to be a new marketing team dealing with the letting of the offices – more news on this is to follow!

A REAL PIECE OF HISTORY ON OUR DOOR STEP!

DB Real Estate can confirm that a decision is expected very soon on the refurbishment of up to 30,000 sq ft of office space at Abbey House, Farnborough Road, Farnborough.

If the landlords get the go ahead to refurbish the space then office suites, from 1,000 sq ft right up to 30,000 sq ft, will be made available on an attractive and flexible, all-inclusive basis and DB Real Estate are instructed by the landlords to find the new tenants.

As well as sitting only a couple of hundred yards away Farnborough’s mailine railway station and town centre, Abbey House also sits in front of St Micheals Abbey (hence the name) which is one of Farnbourough’s little known treasures and a real piece of history, as the Abbey is the final resting place of Napoleon III.

The plan is for WWF-UK to be able to showcase its work through the building itself, which will incorporate many state of the art sustainable building techniques and the building will also incorporate a visitor’s centre.

WWF-UK will be looking to develop the site during 2012/13.  For further information please contact the Woking office of DB Real Estate.

THE MOD ANNOUNCES HUGE REGENERATION PROJECT

Defence Estates, the Ministry of Defence’s property arm, has chosen Grainger to develop 4,500 houses as part of the regeneration of a 365 acre site in Aldershot, part of Aldershot Garrison which is no longer needed by the Army.  This is a huge project that will last for a decade and will change the face of Aldershot and is one of the largest brownfield sites in the whole of the South East of England.

People have long talked about Aldershot as being an improving area and maybe this massive regeneration project will finally kick start these improvements.
